The Congenital Heart FoundationA mother is told during her pregnancy that her baby may not live because of severe heart defects, but physicians at the Scott and Laura Eller Congenital Heart Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center save the infant by implanting a tiny pacemaker in her heart during the first hour of her life. A baby turns blue shortly after he’s delivered and is airlifted to St. Joseph’s where physicians at the heart center work to correct a transposition of the great arteries. A young woman who may not have survived into adulthood just a few decades ago not only thrives but beats the odds by having two of her own healthy children. The vision for the Eller Congenital Heart Center is to improve care for all patients with congenital heart disease, from before birth through adulthood. To support that vision, The Congenital Heart Foundation was founded to raise funds for this unique center of excellence. Every gift, whatever the size, contributes to the Eller Congenital Heart Center’s ability to offer hope and healing to its patients and their families. And, because The Congenital Heart Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation, donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. |
